What you get

Summary

CompressVideo (compressvideo.im) is designed so your video and audio files are processed in your browser. We do not operate a user-media upload API for encoding, conversion, or storage of your clips.

Data we process locally

When you use a tool, file bytes are read by browser APIs (for example File, WebCodecs, canvas, and Origin Private File System) and may be held temporarily in memory or on-device temporary storage. Results are offered as downloads from your device. Media content is not sent to our servers for encoding.

Website analytics

CompressVideo uses Pageview for aggregate site analytics and Microsoft Clarity for delayed interaction analytics. These services may receive standard web information such as the page URL, approximate region, browser/device type, referrer, and interaction events. They must not receive your selected media bytes, decoded frames, audio, exported files, or cloud-drive credentials.

You can block analytics with browser privacy controls, content blockers, or network policy. Blocking analytics does not disable the local media tools.

Cookies and local storage

Essential preferences (for example color theme) may use localStorage. Analytics providers may use their own browser storage under their published policies. We do not require an account cookie to use tools.

Third parties

Pageview and Microsoft Clarity process website analytics under their own privacy terms. If you follow other outbound links, those sites have their own policies. Platform names (Discord, WhatsApp, etc.) are used only to describe common file-size limits.
